足利義満が大切にした茶園「宇治七茗園」の内のひとつであり、唯一残る「奥ノ山茶園」。

堀井七茗園が守る「奥ノ山茶園」巡り、そして縣神社の目の前にある堀井七茗園本店へ。

A tea which  has arrived in Japan in Heian Period. Since then, Japanese traditional tea has been something essential for us. Tea time is the time for communication and relax. Let’s have a cup of a gorgeous traditional Japanese tea. 

“Okunoyama-Chaen(奥ノ山茶園)”has been guarded by Horii Shichimeien (堀井七茗園), which is one of the oldest and important 7 tea farms in Uji area. Today, Kyoto Yu-Project team visits and interview the CEO of Horii Shichmeien.

堀井七茗園は、唯一現存する宇治最古の茶園「奥ノ山茶園」を守り続けています。

代々伝わる製法により、茶葉の栽培、製造、仕上げ、抹茶の石臼による挽きあげまでを行ない、玉露や碾茶（抹茶）など、多くの品評会で受賞している美味しいお茶を生産販売する老舗です。

 Horii Shichimeien guards The oldest tea farm since Muromachi Period 

Horii Shichimeien has guarded one of the oldest tea farm in Uji, the tea farm is called “Okunoyama-Chaen”. Their various teas, manufactured through their own traditional process which has been passed from generation to generation.
